There are several different camera types on the market today. A security camera can be like having your own security guard keeping watch for you all day and night. The right security camera positioned in the right place allows you to see what goes on when you can't be there so you can react accordingly. Since there are several different kinds to choose from, it is very important that you know the different camera types before you choose which one will work best for you. Here are some different kinds of cameras to consider: 1. Color Cameras Color security cameras have become one of the most popular pieces of surveillance equipment. Color can can play in important role in identifying criminals by providing the color of hair, clothing and vehicles, for instance. Black & White Cameras Black and white camera types are generally less expensive and are best if you need high resolution or if you will be using them in low light conditions or filming with Infrared. Some cameras are capable of both color and black & white and can switch back and forth when needed. 3. Motion Activated Cameras Motion Activated Cameras or Sensor Cameras are cameras that begin filming only when they detect activity. They are perfect for areas with low activity that do not need constant monitoring. Motion Activated cameras use less energy and do not require as much storage space for footage. 4. This lighting illuminates any dark area, even total darkness allowing images to be seen by the camera lens that are not seen by the naked eye. 9.Board Cameras A Board Camera is simply a lens mounted on a circuit board - the bare minimum camera. They can be purchased packaged in small cameras or unpackaged to be mounted by the purchaser in a concealed location. These cameras are small enough to be concealed almost anywhere for surveillance purposes. 10. Dome Cameras Dome Cameras 
are basically board cameras built into a protective dome housing. These camera types are small, low profile and are most generally used by business including retail stores, casinos and restaurants for surveillance purposes. These types of cameras are built with extra tough housing built around them to keep camera secure and able to withstand weather conditions and vandalism. They are perfect outdoor camera for monitoring outdoors. 12. CCTV Cameras (Closed Circuit Television) CCTV Cameras are cameras used for a closed circuit television broadcasting systems. The CCTV cameras are viewed at a designated workstation and allows the person monitoring to have full control of the camera. CCTV cameras are commonly used for Business Security. 13. Dummy Cameras These camera types look like real cameras and have been very effective in deterring crime and misconduct with employees and customers. They are a very low costs security solution.
