Add extras to your security system for ultimate security.

Below is a list of some of the home security systme extras available. The list of equipment that comes with the various security system packages varies from copany to company so some of these options are already included in some packages and some would have to be added. I recommend that you not purchase a system unless it minimally contains the following:
Window and Door Sensors
Motion Detector
Smoke & Fire Alarm
Touch Screen Control Panel
Also keep in mind that there is a big difference in the quality of equipment between brand names. Be sure to look around for the ones that best fit your needs and budget. Investing in some extras for your security system will not only add to your security but also your peace of mind.

Key Fob Remote - This is a wireless device that allows you to arm or disarm your system from the palm of your hands. Some come with a panic button for emergencies when you can't reach the keypad.

Door & Window Contacts - These are magnetic contact devices that are placed on doors, screens and windows. These devices trigger the alarm if the contact is broken when one of them is opened.

Extra Keypads - You may wish to have access to arm and activate your home alarm security system from several different entrances to your home.

Motion Detector - Motion Detectors sense motion in your home and alert your alarm system. Motion Detectors can cover large areas and multiple points of entry. There are some that are pet proof - which allow you to have a pet moving around the house without setting off the alarm.

Glass Break Detectors - Detects the breaking of glass, usually mounted on the ceiling in the middle of a room Glass break detectors have a microphone, which monitors any noise or vibrations coming from the glass. If the vibrations reaches a certain threshold - the sensor will trigger the alarm.

Smoke & Fire Detector - Alarm sounds when smoke or fire is detected. You can also have it set where the alarm system will notify your local fire department.

Carbon Monoxide Detector - alert you if dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are detected within range of the carbon monoxide detector.

Heat Detector - Heat Detectors are able to sense heat and alert the monitoring station if dangerous levels are detected.

Backup Battery - The Backup Battery provides power to your home alarm system in case of power outage.

Cellular Back Up - A cellular backup is connected to your security system in case something happens to your land line, such as a cut or disconnected line. In such cases the security alarm system automatically switches over to the cellular system.

Door Stop Alarm - The Door Stop Alarm is in the shape of a door wedge. Place it behind a door and when the door is opened it will not only jam the door it will send out a loud alarm. It is easy to install and to carry with you so it is perfect for home or travel.

Cameras Camera System - Camera systems can be installed to monitor any area that you would like to keep an eye on when you are not there. Security Alarm Systems generally do not come with cameras systems. More on Camera Systems

Interior Siren - The Interior Sirens are loud and meant to startle and distract any intruder.

Exterior Siren - The Exterior Siren not only fends off possible burglars but also attracts the attention of neighbors and anyone near by alerting them of a break in.

Yard Signs and Stickers - Home alarm signs inform intruders and everyone that your house is protected by a home security system. Stickers can be posted on entry points such as doors and windows. Some people use them even if they don't have an alarm system in place.
