Mounting Your Cameras

Plan your security camera viewing area. Whether you have a single camera for your security system or a multiple camera system, identify which areas need monitoring and where you will be placing the camera or cameras. If your cameras need to be mounted on a wall or structure you'll need to hold the camera in the position and mark the spot before you mount the bracket in place. If you are using a wired system it may be necessary to drill holes in the wall for cables. You'll want to expose as little of the wiring as possible in order to prevent vandalism of the system. After you wire the cameras to a transmitter or recording device, you will then connect the recording device to a monitor for viewing. Depending on which type of system you choose, there are several monitoring options available. Some systems allow you to easily connect the camera to a normal TV or any other type of typical monitor.
