Since most packaged home security systems or kits include just the basics, these extras are not generally part of the security system component package. Check to see if the brand you choose will allow you to add components and what components are available.
DIY Security Systems and Components DIY Alarm systems packages (or kits) are available that include the basics listed above and not the Extras listed above. Many of the extra security system components are available to purchase separately. Brand names vary in what extras they offer so check before hand to make sure they offer what you need. For instance most packages include a motion sensor however, you may not need any motion sensors but would like several window and door sensors. Once you purchase a control panel and keypad, most brands of alarm systems will allow you to add extra components as you need them. Do it yourself home security systems can be found online and at home improvement stores such as Home Depot or Lowes.
